celebrates it's 90th year...

in this year of 2019... quite an achievement! To celebrate this
event, the choir will be performing three concerts during the
Saturday 13th April 2019, we performed Verdi
in conjunction with the City of Wolverhampton Choir at
St John's Church in the Square, Wolverhampton, commencing
REQUIEM... What an amazing evening !
ticket sales at around 300, St John's Church was heaving with
many of the audience choosing to sit in the balcony. The concert
was a hugely uplifting experience, one which elicited comments
such as outstanding, brilliant, wonderful, worth double
the £15 from audience members.
Our Musical Director commented "What a work, and what a
thrill it was to direct, a splendid orchestra, and cracking solos,
but you, the choir, were magnificent, and got a lot of the detail
I wanted to achieve, and absolutely got to the dramatic and emotional
heart of the piece. I'm going to have those tunes going through
my head for days!"
From Janet Harrison : "Well, what can I say that is adequate?
The concert was wonderful, superb - all of it. I was so glad
to be there, I still felt a part of it having gone through the
rehearsals and all the hard work.
I was so proud of the Choir, truly the sound was tremendous,
all the light and shade, lovely. The whole concert was a delight
to me, the Orchestra splendid,. the soloists as always terrific
and Ian as full of energy and purpose as ever. I don't know how
he does it." More Reviews >>
