Wombourne Choral Society

Our next Concert has been postponed...

Faure Requiem, Dona Nobis Pacem

Serenade for Strings in E Minor Op20
Saturday 4th April 2020 - 7.30pm

St John's in the Square, Wolverhampton

We have been closely following Government statements, backed by the clear advice of the Science and Health professionals which, until Friday 13th March, suggested that the holding of Group events was unlikely to put people at significant risk, moreover that banning them might actually have a detrimental effect on delaying the spread of infection. This advice has now altered, leading to our taking the decision that our Vaughan Williams and Fauré Concert planned for 4th April should be delayed until later in the year, possibly late Summer, when the prediction is that the worst of the epidemic will have passed.

It has been a difficult decision to take but at its heart is the absolute priority to ensure that no member of the Choir, their families or our audience, is put at any undue risk by continuing with our current plans for the concert. I have, of course, consulted with Ian and Tony, all the other Officers of WDCS, as well as two health professionals from within our own ranks, before coming to this decision. I know some of you have already expressed your concerns, which I hope will now be allayed.
